This Week at SBS: Growing and Going Virtually
Grade 8 Virtual Field Trip
The eighth grade classes took a virtual trip to New York City. Since they were unable to physically travel into the city for their annual class trip, a little piece of New York was brought to them. The students enjoyed a virtual time lapse tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a 360° panorama of Time Square and a few moments of viewing scenes from The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. These were just a few of the attractions that they had planned to experience.
Green Thumbs in the Making!
Mrs. Brilvitch’s Pre K class has a garden in progress. The children have been observing green bean growth. In their zoom class last week, they each showed the cycle from seed to plant.
Mrs. Slot’s 5th grade class has come up with some great ways to tell about the books they have been reading. Some students drew pictures or made collages to illustrate, others made comic strips of the story, some made dioramas, while others wrote and sang songs about the story.
Our remote learning program continues to encourage students to come up with innovative ways to engage in the learning process. To learn more about how SBS has applied remote learning during this unique time, please email Christina Cummings at email@example.com.
