Welcome Sixth Graders!
Hi! My name is Ms. Lavallee. I am very excited to have this opportunity to join the St. Bridget School family. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved to read. I was one of those kids, who likes to find a small corner to read alone. I studied English literature and French at St. Anselm College in the green, lovely state of New Hampshire; I used to enjoy starting my day with a hike through the woods.
In addition to reading and nature, I also enjoy learning foreign languages (particularly, French and Spanish), running, sports, gardening, music and singing, spending time with family and friends, and, most importantly, growing in my Catholic faith. I love to pray the rosary and to go to Mass to receive Jesus in the Eucharist.
I have many personal goals this year. First, I hope to foster a classroom environment, where students feel free to express their ideas and feelings without fear of ridicule or judgment. Second, I hope to challenge students, who already have a natural passion for literature and English language arts, to go even further with their language skills. However, I also hope to help students, who may not consider themselves “language” people, to become more confident with reading, writing, and speaking. Hey, these students may even find themselves looking forward to coming to my classes! That would be wonderful.
My third, and most important, goal is that I hope we can all grow spiritually this year by strengthening our relationships with God. I hope we will all inspire one other to become the very best versions of ourselves by using the gifts God has given each one of us to the fullest.
"What I like about St. Bridget School is the teachers because they make me feel very welcome and safe. I like the teachers because they are caring and compassionate with their students. I like the staff at Homework Club, Extension, and at lunch because they also make me feel like I belong in a family. I love that we are able to go to mass as a whole school and pray for people who need our help."
"What I love most about being a student at St. Bridget School is that we get to practice our faith in class. Also, I love that we support a lot of different charities. There are many wonderful teachers."
“Every day I look forward to Lit and Language Arts.”
“Can we just stay in Language Arts all day? That would be awesome!”
“This class is just so fun.”
