Dear Parents and Students:
The book fair is November 6 through November 11. Our class will be shopping at the book fair on Monday, November 6, 2017. Please send your child with money if you would like him/her to purchase books that day.
In Religion we are discussing sin and temptation and what we can do when we stray away from God’s friendship and love. We will also be discussing our blessings this month and what we are truly thankful for. We will be discussing things that cannot be purchased, abstract things that we often take for granted.
Our class will be attending two field trips this month. One, to go along with our novel study of the book Wonder by RJ Palacio, and the other to the Knights of Columbus Museum,to decorate our class tree. We are looking forward to both of these trips.
We have started working with basic multiplication facts in math. It is imperative that all students memorize or learn their basic facts in a quick manner. We will be moving into multi-digit by one digit multiplication quite quickly. We cannot depend on the multiplication chart for these basic facts. Please practice nightly with flash cards, or drill and practice activities online.
In science we are studying and classifying living things. We have studied and made models of an animal cell and are now moving into the study of plant classification and the function of a plant stem. We are enjoying being scientists and performing experiments. Please ask children to share their science experiences with you!
