As we begin November we think about all we are thankful for. Let us thank God for all our blessings.
The book fair begins November 6 and runs until November 11. Please stop in and support the HSA and get a jump start on holiday shopping at the same time. Our class will be shopping at the book fair on Tuesday, November 7. Please send your child with money if you would like him/her to purchase books that day.
We have been learning some wonderful things about our religion as we explore the Sacraments. Please remember that children should be attending Mass each weekend to reinforce the lessons learned in school.
For reading we are working on sequencing, compare and contrast, inference, and many other skills. When children read the story at home, occasionally ask them to read it aloud to you. This really helps with fluency and you can ask them comprehension questions too. In math we are learning about multiplying decimals. Soon we will move on to division, double digit divisors, and dividing decimals. Facts are so important. Children need to have immediate recall of facts to be successful. Please be sure that when math homework is being done that the work is shown. Children should also print notes and have them in their journals to refer to, along with the notes they take during each lesson.
