Happy November! It is hard to believe that it is already November and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. We have many things to be thankful for.
In Religion we have been learning about how God made all people special and unique. We talked about how we each have our own talents to share. Coming up we will be learning how we use our senses to discover God’s world. We will also talk about how our friends and family are special gifts from God that also help us to learn about God’s wonderful world.
In Language Arts we will be reading stories about animals. We will read two informational texts and an animal fantasy story. We will also read a fairy tale. While we read these stories we will be working on identifying the main idea, distinguishing between realism and fantasy, sequencing events, identifying characters, setting, and problem and solution.
The letter sounds that we will be focusing on are P, C, N, and short I. We will review what nouns are and begin to learn about adjectives. Our new words for the next several weeks are: we, my, like, he, for, with, she, and me. Please practice these with your child as well as the words we have already learned.
In Math we will continue to compose and decompose numbers to 5. We will review counting to 20 and one-to-one correspondence. We will learn how to count on and count back from a given number. We will also learn about size and position. We will finish the month with working on numbers 10-20.
