Principal's Welcome

Pastor's Welcome

Father Jeffrey V. Romans

Welcome to our wonderful St. Bridget School!

Dear St. Bridget of Sweden Parish Family,

As Principal of St. Bridget School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our

school website! We thank you for taking the time to visit and explore.

We hope our website provides you with useful information of the amazing

faith-filled learning experiences offered to our PreK—Grade 8 learners

and the wonderful work accomplished by them. We hope you enjoy your

visit and return regularly to check out our latest news.

I am very proud of our dedicated staff and enthusiastic learners and I am

pleased that you are considering or have chosen our school for your child’s

education. At. St. Bridget School (SBS), our administration and teachers work

together to ensure that our children reach their fullest potential. I believe that all

of us—the school and the community, must work together as an extended family

to guarantee success for all our students. It is our responsibility to empower

children with the creative, intellectual and decision-making skills necessary for

them to take the risk of attempting new challenges, to help them blossom and grow

as individuals and to give them the academic, spiritual, social, physical and emotional skills to enable them to better realize their true potential as children of Christ.

Every day, I have the privilege of witnessing wonderful children achieve this transformation for themselves and emerge more confident and assured of their worth as individuals, helped by the loving and guiding presence of our Pastor, Fr. Jeffrey V. Romans, parents, administration, teachers, staff and other members of the school community.

At SBS, we offer a rich, vibrant and holistic approach to education in the Catholic tradition that is inspired by the life and teachings of our Patron Saint, St. Bridget of Sweden. We offer this to all those who come—Catholics and those of all faiths. It is above all else, a true sense of community, where each member makes his or her own unique contribution, and where all experience the joys and struggles of working and growing together, which makes St. Bridget's a truly special place.

With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at SBS. Whether you are a classroom volunteer, a member of our Home and School Association, a School Board member, a St. Bridget of Sweden parishioner or a community member, you are encouraged to be involved! Increasing parent and community involvement in our school is a high priority in the coming year for me as principal. Educational research clearly demonstrates that when parents and community members are more involved in a child’s education the child’s likelihood for academic success greatly increases.

One of our most important responsibilities to you is that we keep you informed of all that is taking place at the school. One of the ways we do this is regularly updating our school website. You can find up-to-date events, classroom photographs and additional information, so I encourage you to visit it as often as possible. Another critical communication tool that we use to keep parents informed is our educational platform, EduConnect. This is the quick and effective tool to help keep the doors of communication open between home and school. In addition to the website and EduConnect platform, I want you to know that you are welcome to call me if you have any questions or concerns.

If you would like to hear more about our school, or arrange a visit, please follow the contact links and rest assured you will be more than welcome. I look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family at St. Bridget School! May God continue to bless you and keep you safe from all harm during our current pandemic.

Yours, in Christ,

Nancy E. Testa, Ed. D.
