We have celebrated the blessed season of Advent as we prepared for the birth of our Lord. I hope Jesus entered your hearts and homes as we celebrated the magical holiday of Christmas.
Our Nativity is still on display in our classroom as we have daily discussions while preparing for the Epiphany (Three Kings Day) on January 6. We are making preparations to visit church on Friday, to celebrate ‘Three Kings Day’ with offerings for Jesus.
January is CATHOLIC SCHOOLS MONTH, and our Pre-k class has many activities planned. We will be doing a “teacher swap” with our 4th grade ‘buddies’ for a lesson, and we will be having a “Donuts with Daddy” day on Monday, January 23 at 10:00-11:00 a.m.
On January 30 we will be “Making Valentines with Mommy” at 9:30-10:30 a.m. Other information will be forthcoming regarding these and other activities.
We will be learning about Martin Luther King as we celebrate his birthday on January 16 (no school on this day). Our school performance will be on January 18 at 1:00 p.m. for grades Pre-k, Kindergarten, and grade 1. (Snow date will be on Jan. 25 at 1:00 p.m.)
A unit on hibernation will be our focus during the week of January 9-13.
For our language arts lessons we will focus on the letters:
“K”- week of Jan.9 “L”-week of Jan. 16
“M”-week of Jan. 23 “N”-week of Jan. 30
I hope you enjoy the winter season. My very best wishes to all!
