Dear Families:
It is hard to believe that there is only one month left to the school year. There are 4 solid weeks of academics left; that translates to much learning. Please remind your children that there is still much work to be done in all academic areas. Speaking of academics, a big call out to Mrs. Thomas and the 7th and 8th grade students; the Geography Fair was incredible. The landmarks and country reports were informative and so well done. I hope many of you had a chance to visit the fair.
This past Saturday members of our student council, led by Mrs. Geoffrey, Miss Yandow, Mr. Simoni and Mrs. Rowinski hosted a car wash to benefit the programs of our school. It was a resounding success- the line never stopped. Thank you to all who participated in this worthwhile event. It was lots of fun.
Thank you to Mrs. Clerkin and her volunteers for hosting another successful book fair. That is always a popular event! Looking ahead to this week, we have the annual art fair on Wednesday, May 22 @ 6:00 in the dining hall and the CMI concert in the gym on the same evening. Come and enjoy a night of fine arts and see the talents and work of your children. The Memorial Day Parade is this Sunday, May 26th; volunteers are needed to decorate the float and also to represent our school on this special day to honor our soldiers! We hope to see many of you at the parade. The PK, K and 1st grade concert will be held on May 29th @ 1:00. Teachers will be sending you additional information! This is one event that you do not want to miss.
Don’t forget the school kidz teacher tailed supply kits for the upcoming school year. Order everything that you need at www.shopttkits.com by May 31st. Additional information is available on the website.
Help us design the 2013 Cheshire Relay for Life Kids Care T-shirt! All participants in the contest must be in grades K-6 and be a registered team member of the school. Submit your drawing to the office no later than Wednesday, May 22, 2013. The theme is Fairy Tales and the design should reflect that. Kids Care is a great event that raises money for Relay for Life and teaches children to get involved in the community. It will take place on June 7 from 4:00-6:00. Thank you for all of the donations for the patients at the West Haven VNA Hospital. Last day to donate is Friday, May 24th. Thank you for all of your kindness and generosity throughout the year to help and serve our brothers and sisters in need.
