Welcome to Preschool!
My name is Ms. Markuszka and this is my third year teaching here at St. Bridget School. I have a B.S in Psychology from Suffolk University and a master’s in Elementary Education from Wheelock College.
The Pre-kindergarten program here at St. Bridget School consists of an extensive curriculum centering on the developmental needs of each child along with focusing our attention on social and academic areas. Pre- kindergarten is a time for our youngest learners to become familiar with a school setting as they engage is a lot of fun activities!

This year our Pre K students will be exploring the “I Am Special” curriculum along with “Our Gospel Weeklies” and “Seeds”books.
Each day we will spend time learning about the special gifts God has given us. Children will practice the different ways we express our love for God and our beautiful faith.
As a class, we will be attending school mass every Friday morning. I encourage all families to join us at Mass at 9:00 on Fridays. It is a beautiful way for the school to come together.
There is technology all around us here in Pre k! Students are exposed to different learning activities each day on the Smartboard during morning meeting and different lessons.
Along with this students will to explore different styles of learning on the IPads that are used in the classroom daily as well as weekly visit to the computer lab. Parents, if you could provide headphones for your child with their names on them that would be great!
A great portion of our day is set aside for learning centers in the classroom. Children learn best through exploration and reinforcement! It is a great time for the children to really put their ‘thinking caps on’, express themselves and become creative!
Math is all around us in the classroom! From counting how many boys and girls are in class, to creating color patterns students will explore various concepts on a daily basis!
Throughout the year students will work on the following; Geometry, Data Analysis, Measurement, Numbers, Patterns, and Operations.
Pre K is time for students to explore! Our classroom is designed for students to be able to investigate and question along with learning about our world and those around us!
Communication is very important to me in our classroom. Each Friday families will receive a weekly newsletter about all the fun and exciting events that took place in the classroom as well as the school! I will also send out emails on a need-be- basis.
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at any time at NMarkuszka@stbridgetschool.org.
Families, I welcome you to come to the classroom at any point. If you wish to stop in and read a story to the class please email me and we will set up a time for this. The children love to have visitors and enjoy the special guests!
