“God wills that all his gifts should come to us through Mary” (St. Bernard)
This month we will be celebrating the month of Mary. As a class we will discuss who Mary was, what she did for all of us and how we can pray for her. Children will work on fun crafts to celebrate the month of Mary and even create a Mother’s Day gift for her!
We will be continuing our alphabet this month and taking the time to review all the letters both uppercase and lowercase! Children have been working so hard to their handwriting and are taking such pride in all their work. We will also be working on a few sight words and engaging in fun hands on learning tools to practice our skills!
We will continue to have fun engaging in read aloud stories as we make predictions, do fun picture walks and summaries stories through drawings of our own!
This month we will be doing lots of comparing activities! We will be comparing items based on 2 and 3 traits such as color and size! Sorting is such a fun game all the children love. In addition, we will also work on basic addition and subtraction problems using visual cues! Math is all around us and we love to practice our skills anytime we can!
This month we focusing on the weather. Children will be observing the weather each week and using their weather journals to draw what the weather is like. We will also be going outside and exploring the different types of clouds we see!
May is a time for us to tell one another how thankful we are for the people around us. This month children will be creating crafts as a way to say ‘thank you’ to the people closest to us!
