Iowa tests are the first two weeks of May. These are only one aspect of evaluating your child’s total academic experience. Please be sure children are rested when they come in and that they have eaten a healthful breakfast.
Our trip to The Stanley-Whitman House is all set for Friday May 26. Please be sure children are here on time. The bus leaves at exactly 9:00. Lunch should be totally disposable and regular uniforms should be worn. Children can bring money for the gift shop and a camera if they like. No electronics and no phones.
In all subjects we are moving along well. We are staring some new things this month to keep students focused. Students will be writing a story based on the great book The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris VanAllsburg. Ask your child about it. We will also be starting multiplying fractions with dividing fractions soon to follow. For social studies we will have a unique way to end the chapter – hint: no test! After our chapter assessment we will leave the book for a short while and students will do a power point presentation to tell the class about the president they studied. Remember we will be working and learning right up to the last day of school.
