Curriculum Overview |
|
St. Bridget School provides a Catholic,
faith-based curriculum following guidelines provided by the Archdiocese
of Hartford. Those
guidelines provide for the development of basic skills in all subject
areas. All students participate in the following disciplines: religion,
reading, writing, mathematics, science, geography, history, Spanish, music,
art, health, and physical education. Among the tools available for students
to use are two computer labs with age appropriate software, interactive
whiteboards, digital projectors, electronic microscopes, an AWS
weather station, and an extensive library. Annual school-wide
events include prayer services, May Crowning, Flag Day, Christmas Concert, band
and other choral concerts. Student work is displayed for the art
show, geography fair, and the science and technology fair where
7th and 8th grade entries are evaluated by independent judges with
the first and second place winners progressing to the state level.
Students begin their journey in Pre-Kindergarten
by participating in activities that allow them to develop spiritually,
physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. They
complete their journey in eighth grade with a strong background
in academic subject areas and Catholic social teaching as well
as experiences in teamwork, social interaction, and community
service.
