Committees have been established to accomplish
the goals of the organization. Committee
chairpersons serve a two-year term.
Ways and Means: Fundraising
is part of school development. Its purposes include fostering school
spirit, creating community and commonality of purpose among families
as well as raising money to support and enhance the school community.
In this spirit all families of St. Bridget students are expected
to participate to the fullest extent possible in all fundraising
and development activities sponsored by the church and school.
The Ways and Means committee looks for and organizes fundraising
activities in order to provide funds for the school and church.
Membership and Hospitality: This
group has several functions. It is responsible for maintaining
the HSA membership records, collecting dues and preparing and distributing
the school directory. They also decorate the bulletin boards with
appropriate themes, provide refreshments for HSA meetings and other
special events such as the First Communion Class Breakfast and
Teacher Appreciation Day.
Community Action: In conjunction with St. Bridget's students, the Community Action Committee provides programs to serve our community and to help those in need. Examples of programs include the "Mitten Tree" Program and meal preparation for local soup kitchens. This committee also provides educational/safety enrichment programs to St. Bridget students, such as dental hygiene and car safety programs.
Publicity/Newsletter: This
committee works with other committees to stay apprised of their
projects and activities. It then seeks out opportunities to promote
these endeavors in the media. It also prepares a monthly newsletter
for the HSA membership.
History: This
committee documents the chronology of school events through words
and pictures.
Special Projects: Ad-hoc
committees are initiated by the HSA board whenever a special need
arises and/or special talents are required. Special Project
include the HSA picnic, the pancake breakfast and the Memorial
Day parade float.
